Program
Support for committed amateur sailors who can’t afford to train and compete, from regional racing to national, international and Olympic campaigns.
Why it matters
Promising sailors often stall not for lack of ability but for lack of coaching, entry fees and travel. Many never get the chance to find out how good they could be.
What participants do
How this program helps
Scholarships would cover coaching, training, courses, and travel and entry fees for national and international competition. Equipment would be provided on loan rather than purchased for individuals, and recipients would report back on their progress.
This is about the athlete’s education and development. Recipients are chosen on published criteria by people without a conflict of interest, donors can’t designate a specific athlete, and the program’s design will be reviewed before launch.
Who it serves
Amateur sailors with demonstrated commitment and ability who can’t cover the cost of training and competition on their own.
Selection is by an independent committee using published criteria. Impact’s founder, directors and their families aren’t eligible.

Impact Sailing Foundation identifies, funds, connects, and amplifies opportunities through sailing — for youth and adults across Annapolis and Baltimore, with priority for those who face barriers to the water: no boat, no club, no connection.
Sailing is an open sport on closed water. Age, gender, race, ability, or income shouldn’t decide who gets to sail, compete, and build a future on the water. Every program serves that same mission: a first sail, real skills, offshore experience, and the careers and confidence that come with them.
